Ignition Interlock and Motorcycles by State
Whether a driver under an ignition-interlock requirement can ride a motorcycle depends on the state: some certify devices for motorcycles, some bar interlock-restricted drivers from operating one at all (no device is approved), some exempt motorcycles from the requirement, and many are silent. This table records what each state's interlock program page or statute says — and says "not addressed" where neither does, rather than guessing.
Of the 51 verified jurisdictions, 8 state that a device may be installed on a motorcycle, 5 bar interlock-restricted drivers from operating one, 3 exempt motorcycles from the requirement, and 35 do not address motorcycles on their interlock program page or statute.
