Deadline to Request a DUI License Hearing by State
A DUI arrest usually starts two separate cases: a criminal one in court, and an administrative one at the licensing agency that can suspend a licence on its own, before any conviction. The administrative suspension is the one with a clock on it. Most states give a short window — often measured in days from the notice — to request a hearing, and in most of them the suspension takes effect automatically if no request is made in time.
The table lists the deadline each state states for requesting that hearing, whether the state counts calendar or business days, and how long any temporary driving permit lasts. Where a state does not state a number, the cell says so rather than showing a guess.
Deadlines are short and the consequence of missing one is losing the licence by default. Confirm the date on the notice you were given and with the agency before relying on any figure here — the notice controls, and this page is not legal advice.
