DUI School and Alcohol Education by State
Almost every state makes an alcohol or drug education programme a condition of getting a licence back after a DUI, but no two states call it the same thing: Alabama refers to a court referral programme, Alaska to an Alcohol Safety Action Program, Georgia to DUI school, and others to screening, assessment or a victim-impact panel. The table gives each state’s own name for the requirement and what its agency or statute says the programme involves, quoted rather than summarised.
This is a reference to what a state requires — not a directory of providers, and not a booking service. Which specific school or provider satisfies the requirement is decided by the state, the court, or the licensing agency, and the approved-provider list is published by the state itself; each row links to that state’s page, where the source and the date it was checked are shown.
50 of 51 states have a verified education requirement on file. Each row links to that state’s reinstatement page, where the full quote, the agency and the date it was checked are shown.
